Caring for you composite decking

It's time to enjoy the low maintenance life style of composite decking. This guide will outline the simple steps to caring for your composite decking so you can enjoy it for years to come. Prepare to be amazed at how such little maintenance can keep your composite decking brand new.

Food & Drink Mess

Spills happen, but it is best to clean them quickly. Most food and drink spills can be simply wiped away with a damp cloth but for stronger spills such as wine or sauces, warm soapy water on a cloth or soft bristle broom will clean off those tough spills with ease. The sooner you get to them, the easier they will come off.

Chemical Spills

While your AusDecking composite decking is resistant to light cleaning chemicals and even diluted pool salt/chlorine, harsh cleaning chemicals, poisons and undiluted chlorine can cause serious damage to your new decking. It is best to avoid using these chemicals near your decking. In the event that harsh chemicals come into contact with your decking, clean them off immediately

Scratch Prevention

Furniture and composite decking go hand in hand, but to keep those pesky scratches off your decking, we recommend applying carpet/felt pads to the bottom of any hard or sharp objects that will make contact with the decking. Whether it be sliding chairs, pots or sun beds, extend the beauty of your decking by protecting it from scratches.
